I have been making traditional wooden toys with a twist for over 35 year. I have a  passion for toys that use motion to provide hours of entertainment and are designed for years of use.

 

Croglin Toys is a true family business, all our toys have been put to the best testing by my four children and now even my six grandchildren. The designs are largely unchanged and are still proving themselves to be very popular.

 

Living in the beautiful Eden Valley in Cumbria, the environment is always important to me which is why I use only locally and sustainably sourced woods and environmentally friendly, child safe paints for all our products.

 

I have recently moved back to my original workshop in Croglin and my son Joe Butler is working from the Old School in Lazonby on his new venture Croglin Ltd. 

 

I have also recently began a new project alongside Croglin Toys,

The Toymaker's Guide

which brings basic toys and toymaking skills to rural areas around the world.
